Rotterdames is an ode to all ladies of Rotterdam. They make city life beautiful, just by being there. As simple as it sounds, it is beyond essential. Great admiration and gratitude are appropriate in this.

Hence. Where others take a quick look back at a lady, smile and pass on, Baschz, Milan Boonstra and Janjoost Jullens grasp these moments. With Rotterdames they record incidental but fascinating encounters in drawings, photographs and writings.

All three of them have their own preferences, approaches and disciplines. They each pick their own Rotterladies. Every week, a whole year round. This way they together portray 52 x 3 = 156 ladies.

Every two months we present a fresh, thematic program of captivating web films, linked to a special theme. The audience submits web films and a team of editors picks the best ones and compiles a programme of around 90 minutes from the bunch, which is screened in cinemas and other special locations.

We, Julstar and Baschz, are the new hosts of Upoad Cinema Rotterdam at the new location De Unie. We hope to see you there!

During Image Festival Rotterdam 2010, Mañana’s Baschz and Selfcontrolfreak worked in and from the green space in Centrum Beeldende Kunst Rotterdam on a new crowdsourcing project, a short time running follow-up to their Masterpiece 2.0 project. And Dave Vriens created the soundtrack again.

On Saturday the 23rd and Sunday the 24th of October, everybody was invited to CBK Rotterdam to come by and donate a personal object which then was used by the artists and became part of their new work, which they made in the same week and presented on Sunday the 31st of October. In return people received a unique signed frame with your object in it.

Today September 9 is the official release of La Melodia’s album Electronic Love for which Baschz did the artwork. He incorporated Augmented Reality into the design, so get that album and hold it in front of your webcam on electroniclove.net to make Melodee and INT come to life!

Next saturnday, 31st of july to be exact, Mañana’s Julstar en goodfriend Rippendael team up again as Unshaved Rotterdam. Expect anything but club music. Using strictly vinyl, Rip and Jul will move from Kingston via Rio to Georgia and Harlem, ofcourse paying a visit to Plainfield on the way there. And yes they good at it.

Mañana’s Baschz and Mañana regular deejay Van Rippendael will be cruising the Cratefull Of Baschz a.k.a. The BMX Boomboxxx on the beautiful island of Terschelling at this year’s Oerol Festival from the 11th until the 20th of June
