Oh yes jawel! Rotterdam’s got a new deejay team. Three years after Tictoc, Julstar (Mañana) and Van Rippendael (Ghettoblaster) rejoin forces as Ongeschoren (aka Unshaved).

On the 25th of april 2009, on the top floor of the SingerSweatShop, SSS-er and Mãnanaman Baschz and good friend Selfcontrolfreak started their MASTERPIECE 2.0 social media art project; the first ever unique painting made with a Web 2.0 approach

From april till june visitors of MASTERPIECE20.com have been sending in their interactions and were able to follow LIVE how the interactive animating canvas was growing and growing

In the last 2 months Baschz and Selfcontrolfreak have been working hard on finishing the last painted frames, collecting all data, working it into an all new and controllable full screen online experience and our good friend Dave Vriens has made a great soundtrack adding the animation’s cherry on top!

Last week Julstar and Baschz were in Berlin to work on some new stuffs;

Julstar worked on his novel and also a shorter written piece which will be part of a later to be announced Mañana Package Deal. Baschz went to hang around with and take pictures of the lovely Amarantha for a piece to be featured in the upcoming package as well .. and of course there was some good old chilling out and partying to do too; fun times with Van Rippendael, Matthijs, Purita Durango, Amarantha, MCDE, Glenn, Donovan, etc. Hopefully see you again real soon!

Tomorrow, the 20th of September it’s the Annual European Carfree Sunday. In loads of different cities around Europa you’re not allowed to drive your car into the city and a lot of events take please in the streets everywhere.

At one of these events Baschz will be rocking his Cratefull Of Baschz at the Mebike exxxtracaganza, where different artists have all built a dream bike of their own.

From 11:00 they all start putting together their bikes, hanging around, enjoying the music and all the other initiatives. At 15:30 a parade with all the dream bikes will (p)ride around Surinameplein in Amsterdam.

Once again Cratefull Of Baschz will be playing a mixxx especially made for the occassion by our good friend and Mañana guest deejay regulaire DJ Van Rippendael (Ghettoblaster, Tictoc).

As some of you already knew i went to Venlo yesterday, where i was programmed with my BMXXX Boomboxxx installation for the arrival of La Vuelta. Great times!

We didn’t see anything of the actual racing, since we were on the festival terrain. i actually only heard Cancellara’s name embedded in some Spanish gibberish microphoning, which made me think at the time he had won the stage, and we had a (great) dinner with some Shimano cats at the hotel. and oh yeah, and we drove our car over the track to the finish line. But that’s all the Vuelta related news i have for you.

Krijn A.K.A. DJ Van Rippendael (who’s helped me out with the welding and made the mixxx played from the DJM speakers) and i arrived about half four at the finish, where we met the lovely and helpful Noortje and started the prone to infamy DJ MUEBLE Backstage Buildup. Heads turning and smiles appearing already, including Wilfried de Jong, Thomas Acda, and others who were performing at the ZPF as well. About sixxx or so we hit the festival terrain

It was great fun to ride around on it in full gear for the first time, and all held-up well .. better than exxxpected actually! The only mishap we had was when the chain snapped off, just a few meters before we made it back backstage at the end of the day .. phew

We drove and did pit stops around the whole festival, where every once inna while we let the bike be a sculpture while we engaged in some Thai foot-volley thingie with some local kids and Noortje (she has a mean kick btw). Driving past it was cool to see people part like a big smiling, dancing, picture taking Red Sea. And kids were running along and around like the circus was in town; and i believe we were! We also ran into Sander of Opslaan Als, with whom i worked on a Kempi video earlier this year and who i think should call us and give the bike a part if one of their upcoming projects

Recapping, we had so much fun we’re def sure we want to keep this thing going ‘n’ growing. So, if you’re interested, come and see us on Autoloze Zondag, September the 20th on Surinameplein in Hamsterdam. More info about that when i get it!

On Monday the 31st of August the Spanish cycling tour La Vuelta ciclista a España races stage numero tres from Zutphen to Venlo. Yes, in Holland ..

At the arrival in Venlo they’ve especially prolonged the three day Zomerparkfeest with one more day where there’ll be festivities all day long, and Baschz’s  installation DJ MØBEL, for this occasion transformed into and renamed DJ MUEBLE will be part of it!

Exxxpect a Spanish version in of the installation, first seen at our Ecoño event in Tent Rotterdam earlier this year, where it looked like this
